Tribute to Paul Newman 1/26/1925 - 9/26/2008

I read the news this morning with such sadness. Paul Newman dies, 83. My heart actually hurt. He was one of my all time favorite actors. Few stars today could compete with such greatness. A humble man, loved by many. A real super star.

P.S. I promise to post pictures from recent trip to beach with our other favorite "twinny" family. Good times...

I know, it hurt so bad didn't it? I admired his acting yes, but it was his humanitarian work that totally endeared him to me. The way he was humble and cared for those less fortunate. What a class act. He will be missed.

It's amazing how we become so fond of certian actors/actresses.
I remember when John Ritter died I felt so bad.And years ao when Luciel Ball died I was heart broken.I was such a huge Lucy fan and still am.

Maybe now I can be your favorite man.Well next to the hubby of course.

I loved him for so many things. Not only that he was an awesome actor, but his committment and love to his wife, Joanne and his children. Yes, as Yoli mentioned his humanaties work. He was selfless. So much more than just a hollywood star. And yes, we will all miss those gorgeous eyes. I remember feeling a sadness like this when JFK Jr. died too. Unthinkable.

I always said that this man 'had it', even right to the end... I agree with Yoli that though I loved his acting - loved his movie 'Cool Hand Luck', 'Cat On A Hot Tin Roof' and 'Hud'... to name a few... of course there were more... but his humanitarian work and selflessness is what really charmed me to him...

a timeless icon.

Like Yoli, his humantiarian work endeared me to him, but I have always loved him.

Sadly, when my husband told me the news I said in shock..."nooooo, not him, why not Tom Cruise"

I am a bad person.

Hey Rony,

Lovely man and what a loss. I was so saddened by this. I am loving your new blog redesign and Katie and Abbey are just the most gorgeous sweeties in the whole universe. I am sorry it has been so long since I have visited my fave blogs. I need to make more time to say "hi".

I finished my blog redesign. I think you may have come by when the old one was still up. My new blog is www.thechroniclesofmommia.com but the old address should still work. Hope you guys are doing great. :)

Hugs,
Jonni

Everytime I look at this post I tear up. I still can't, NO I DON"T want to believe he is gone. I can not imagine the pain Joanne must be feeling to have lost her one and only......
