He so gets me

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you who e-mailed me privately to inquire if all was o.k in my world. I was/am truly touched. But, the reality is no. No, no, no. G-d, I'm finding it more and more arduous to eek through each waking day. It's as if there is an anchor around my neck pulling me deeper and deeper into the abyss. A deep dark hole. Working later and later. No time for girls. No time for fh. No time for friends and no time for me. Folded laundry stacked up from the week before or gasp the week before that. Trying to figure out a way to get my fat ever so bulging ass back into the gym and wondering where the hell the gross make me vomitt midriff that I'm now sporting so effortlessly came from. Constant state of amnesia wondering what it was I was doing a minute ago or worse what I was saying. Not to mention the guilt I have not spending every waking minute with my girls. I'm on a treadmill (not that kind either--if I was I'd weigh a mere 100 pounds!) from the minute my tired ass hits the floor in the morning until my fried foggy head slips into a coma at night long after 1:00am dreaming of a better way. I'm searching desperately for the perfect family-work situation. If nothing else for my own sanity. And to add to the angst the housing market is in the toilet and our buyer's know more than we the professionals do. Great, everyones an expert. I didn't realize Ben Bernanke had been replaced. Hell I would have applied for the job with some of the experts looming out there! Everyone has a damn "crystal" ball or know a friend of a friend of a friend who knows something! Damn no-it-all smarty pants. Note to anyone out there looking for a home. Don't piss the sales people off. We could turn on you like Linda Blair without warning hissing and head spinning and spewing venom. The pressure is consuming. We're getting it from all sides. Our employer and the potential buyers who unfortunately don't get it. Just to be perfectly clear, we do know what's going on in the real eastate market---it's our profession! We read too you know. Trust me, I can tell you about your market and yes yours and yours too. It's what we do for a living, so please stop insulting our intellegene. Without warning we may poke your eyeballs out. With one of our condescending smiles! I sport the famous airline smile. *wink* You've been warned. Damn, I feel much better.

Ok, that said, he so gets me. He knows me so well. He knew all "mama" his girl needed was a spoonful of "The Boss" to make my loins wet put a smile on my face. An endorphin rush. Yes, my baby surprised me with girls college fund tickets to see Bruce Springsteen at the Verizon Center. We are total stalkers groupies and have been known to jump on a plane on a whim to rock with him wherever they are jamming. It was the first time since my "annual" celebration that we had been out alone. Alone. A real date. No children. No diapers to change, only my own wet panties. No dinner to worry about preparing. No interruptions. Just us. I couldn't stop smiling. We held hands. We laughed. We danced. Damn, it felt good. Everyone was there including Patti, the first lady of rock n-roll. It was a breathlessly magical show. Typical of "The Boss", he and Patti and their son Evan spent the day at Walter Reid Hospital visiting wounded soldiers and yes, brought them to the show! They don't get any finer than "The Boss" in my opinion. Euphoric. He rates right up there with Bono in my book!
Thank you honey pot for a great evening. Everything about it was purrrr-fect. Well. with exception of that squirrely creepy guy who sat next to me (alone) and chewed on his fist on his fingers all night. Disgusting. He might as well have been picking his nose! But he managed to keep his hands out of his mouth when Bruce appeared. Thank g-d! Then there were all these old people. Hush. They were much, much older than me. Really. Baby you still rock my world. I love you sweetie. Thank you for a truly fabulous evening.

Sorry work is so crazy. My sil is a realtor and she has been down in the dumps and working her ass off with another job now as well. (She lives in Michigan where it's really bad.)

So glad The Boss could bring some, er, pleasure to you ;-D

I'd like a night alone with my hubby. It sounds wonderful!

So glad hubby knew just how to put you on the mend. I have only seen him once (Dec '84) and man, it did ROCK!! I had a final the next morning and had to drive the 3 hours back to campus with my head out the window to stay awake...sooooo worth it. btw..the final was Old Testament LOL Good thing I grew up in Sun School to ace it..

{{{HUGS}}} friend...so sorry things are hectic. Our house had been on the market for 8 months..we pulled it off during the holidays..don't want to deal wiht it. My cousin is my real estate agent so I don't yell at her : )

I hope things settle down soon and you get more time with your family. Good to hear from you...don't stay away so long..I need your witty banter

I'm so glad you are back! I missed you. Also, how wonderful is your sweet hubby to get you those tickets, I'm so glad you had a great date night!

I am SO glad you had a night out just the 2 of you- after what sounds like horrific week after horrific week, you totally deserved that!

It is so good to hear from you. I hope you will find the right mix of work/hoome soon. Not getting enough sleep will make anyone crazy. I hope the market changes soon.

Sounds like you had the perfect date! What a great hubby you have!

Glad to hear from you, and glad you had a purrrfect evening out.

But I'm worried about the first part of your post - that didn't sound good. Life is much harder if the job sucks and even harder if you feel like you are falling behind everywhere.

Can you take a month off or something? Just to get into balance again? Reconnect with everything that's important (besides the BOSS)?

I just wrote a novel-sized comment and blogger sent it into the black hole. Basically it said

"You.Me.White beaches.Frozen drinks.Soon!"

Work, motherhood, stress, weight gain, go to the gym, finding a balance, forgetfulness, is there people out there who can do it all? Are they really okay? Do you know any?

Your hubby sounds like a great guy. A rockin night out with the boss. Sounds great!

Well gotta go sit on the sofa and eat some junk food and wonder why I keep getting fatter.

I lasted one year as a Realtor. I couldn't make it.

I hope you find the balance soon. Sounds like a rough time! Good thoughts being sent your way!

Rony, I can honestly tell you that I have been EXACTLY where you are. Exactly (well, except the part about rocking out with Bruce & the hubby--- haven't been *there*, unfortunately). Anyway, truly sister, I know how you feel. I do. Really, I do. Two things to say-- 1) honest to god, it does get easier. As you know we're some months ahead of you because K & O turned three May 8. Truly, I didn't think it would be true, but it IS SO TRUE: with twins, it DOES get easier as they get older. I feel like their third birthday was like a light switch turning on- suddenly the world was brighter and everything seemed so much more manageable. Honestly, I would not say this if it weren't true--- have faith my friend, have faith. It will get easier. ...and... 2) Email me/us [those of us who truly do 'get it'] when you need a friend. I/we know what it is like-- the twins (adopted!), the career, the husband, the childcare situation, the people-who-piss-us-off, the laundry piled up for weeks on end. We get it. Give a shout out when you need it. I'm here.

Oh Rony....I am so sorry I did not call you this weekend.Where in the heck was my ESP radar!

You know what? You got it tough. I mean, really. On top of it ALREADY being tough having an insta-family of twins plus more, working full-time, living the lifestyle you USED to live, being a perfectionist control-y type A+, wanting everyone around you to be happy and feeling responsible for their happiness, not being able to get out and exercise...then...then....you have to deal with a CRUMMY MARKETPLACE with CRUMMY clientele !!#@$!@
Jeez-a-ree, girl. Most people would go running and screaming in the opposite direction.

Here's what ya need to do....figure out what you can just let "go". Just make a few things top-priority and let everything else just go by the wayside for a few months. Take some time off if you can (come visit me!!!...we have tons of room down here....!!). Go into a little debt and hire a cook through the holiday months. Have your mil come stay and help. Come see me!!!...we'll go to a local spa for the day(s).

I'll call later today..maybe I'll catch you on a break from your Monday-insanity.

Love,
cin

So sorry you've been having a difficult time lately. Stress sucks. You cannot do it all honey (I know, I tried too). You're still awesome.

Sit down and make a list of your top priorities, what you must do to be fulfilled and happy. Bare bones minimum.

Something's gotta give. I don't want it to be YOU.

Cut something out, and don't feel guilty. You can give more and do more when you're happy and not a total stressball.

DH is pretty awesome to take you out like that! He's quite a catch. He should help you with that laundry...

I hope you find a balance. With a great guy, awesome twins and a bitchin' 'tude, you are def. ahead of the game. Hope the rest all settles down.

Keep smilin!

I knew something was fishy in your world. I wish I could help with actual an actual solution, but I'm thinking of you! I'm glad you got to see The Boss.
I'll be in D.C. for a week in January if you can sneak away for a beverage of the adult variety... hang in there!!!

I am glad you had a great time. You deserved it! I hope it helped some. I think this time of year can be a bit depressing despite the cheery holiday stuff. It starts getting dark way too early that make syou feel like you are getting home from work really late and the day seems so short...
I hope you have a nice Thanksgiving and things mello out.

OH my!! You are so where I have been and am currently at. Mommy guilt is horrible and I just posed on it on my blog a week or so ago. I hate it and it really sucks. I totally get the issues with your job. People think they know so much more than you so and it is unfortuante. Keep your chin up. YOu are a great mom and you are great at what you do!!!
