Maggie April 15, 2000 - February 3, 2009

Maggie,

Where do I begin. I can still see your pretty little face the day we brought you home. You were so nervous and so was I. Do you remember knocking over my glass of wine as you ran thru the house? Twice! Or how you kept stepping in your water bowl and spilling it? You were the most gorgeous animal on the face of the earth. I hope you always know how much I loved you. As much as we thought you were human, I wish you could have shared with me the pain you were suffering. I keep thinking that "if only".... oh.. if only I knew about the anemia, and the internal bleeding and the abnormally small heart.... you'd still be with us.... How did we not know? I should have known something was up these past couple weeks when you nuzzled up to me for an extra kiss or hug. I should have known something.....I.Should.Have.Known! I knew something was wrong when you couldn't get up, but I thought the Vet would fix it. He always does. I remember hearing "blood transfusion and critical" and thinking what? But, how could I know within two hours I would be signing your death certificate?! It happened so quickly. I can't believe you are gone. The tears won't stop. I hope you know you were always my "first". Mag's my heart is breaking.....I'll will miss you forever and ever.....

I will love you forever and ever...

Your mommy....

I am sooo sorry! Your post brought tears to my eyes and brings back the memory of losing both our beloved dog and cat just last year. There are no words.

Rony she knew she was loved and she gave as much in return. Don't be so hard on yourself. She is not in pain anymore, that is all we can ask for those we love.

What a wonderful tribute to Maggie. I have enjoyed communicating with you on Facebook, but have missed your blog.

I hope the girls are handling Maggie's death well. Take care and drink a toast to Maggie for me, too.

Rony, I'm so sorry for the loss of your beloved Maggie. I have tears in my ears because we have a dog(Molly) the same age as Maggie was. She knows you loved her and you gave her an amazing life. I know you'll miss her terribly.

Please take care friend,
Gail

Rony - I'm so sorry.

How are the girls dealing with this? When our beloved cat Oliver died my girls were still younger, so all they say now is that "Oliver is not with us any more - he dived" (no typo - they say 'dived' - I guess 'died' doesn't make sense to them, yet).

Anyway, have a glass (or three) to commemorate her.

I am so very sorry for your loss - I too said bye to my very first pet - a black cat - He was so special and I will always carry those memories in my heart as will you - other animals may come - but none will be your first. I wish you peace.

Rony,
I'm crying with you.
My dad passed away two and a half years ago. Last year I sat with his dog Buddy as he died. I couldn't touch him because he was in such pain, but I talked to him and told him that we loved him and soon he would be running in heaven with "Papa" again. I swear it was only my talking to him that allowed him to let go. (My mom couldn't bring herself to put him to sleep). I believe that Buddy and Maggie are running now - happy and pain free with those who've gone before us.

Rony,
So sorry to hear this. I know your heart aches... we had to give our dog (Panzer) to a good friend because Sage is allergic. They had time to bond and they still ask about him almost daily.
Glad you're back but my heart is with you, it's sometimes so hard to know what our pets are going through, don't be too hard on yourself.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. The past week has been heart breaking. Dianne, I had to laugh at your comment. Katie was allergic to Maggie, but I told the doctor we needed some meds for Katie as we weren't getting rid of the dog! I would never have parted with her. She had my heart. :) I miss her terribly.

We lost "our first" over 1 yr ago. I still look at her picture and my heartaches. Please allow yourself time to grieve. She was a big part of your family....she deserves that.

I will be thinking of you and your family. It does my heart good to know our Chelsea will have such a good running buddy as Mags.

So sorry for you!! I know exactly how you feel. It is like losing a TRUE member of your family. I am still sad and we lost our Bailey more than two years ago. My husband and I were talking about her this morning. It helps to tell the sweet and funny stories...Through those, your sweet doggy angel will live on and on... Although, I know that nothing anyone says right now really helps ;-(

Rony - I know exactly how you feel. My sweet Tiger earned her angel wings on November 16th and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss her. Not to get overly religious G-d has a plan. Right before my Tiger became an angel I met my current boyfriend who is 'the one' I just know it...he was able to help me through the loss of Miss Priss...then on January 20, I lost my Grandmother. G-d has a plan. Maggie will be with you helpng you through.
