I have never been into big SUVs but when the girls came I had to trade Tim. He is now driving my tidy sedan while I have his giant humongoid truck. Thank God the lease is up on that behemoth in two months so I figured I could get something smaller.

Yeah, pretty much it turns out there is not a heck of a lot out there that will fit the damn double stroller. And, like you, I am totally mini-van averse. I think I would rather ride a bike and balance the girls in front and back baskets. There are a few wagons I really like but after debating for six trillion years I am rather dismayed to announce that the car we are getting a)has exactly the same gas mileage as the behemoth monster truck I am driving now and b)is not, but looks arguably similar to, a minivan. Some days I hate me.Amyesqhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18355075672409217323noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24690505.post-75479879941975904912008-05-04T10:05:00.000-05:002008-05-04T10:05:00.000-05:00I could not have said all of that better myself. Not that it's terribly better on this side...it used to take $40 to fill my tank and it now takes nearly $60...but I don't have to deal with the war, but from afar, and the government is not controled by a dictator under the guise of "president". My son thinks it's all glam and said he'd be going with him if he was old enough. I told him he wouldn't be going anywhere because I'd mame him so he couldn't go. He was shocked, I was serious. Our young men don't get it at all. They have been raised on breast milk and Peter Pan. They don't understand what war is, and the commercials make it look like a ticket to being a real man, the recruiters office has 5 crotch rockets lines up in front...macho for sure. I asked Zach what he would do after he watched his friend shot to death next to him. He looked at me all confused. I said that's what war is. There are 5,000 young men who thought they were getting money for college and a cool job and they are gone forever.redmaryjaneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09768158710291676368noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24690505.post-23106380217879133392008-05-02T11:30:00.000-05:002008-05-02T11:30:00.000-05:00THE MINI VAN THING IS SO FUNNY. WHEN THE BOYS WERE...THE MINI VAN THING IS SO FUNNY. WHEN THE BOYS WERE YOUNG I GOT A MINIVAN AND GOT MYSELF INTO A HORRIBLE LEASE AND HAD IT FOR LIKE 4 YEARS-- UGG!! I SWORE OFF MINIVANS AND WHEN WE DECIDED TO ADOPT I WENT OUT AND GOT MYSELF A NICE ACURA MDX WITH THE 3RD ROW SEAT-- EVERYTHING I WANTED IN A CAR EXCEPT THAT THE GAS MILAGE SUCKS BIG TIME. SO, OUR GOOD FRIENDS (WHO HAVE WAY TOO MUCH MONEY) BOUGHT A LOADED HONDA ODYSSEY WITH DVD, GPS AND ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO. I ALWAYS ADMIRED THAT CAR ESPECIALLY SINCE IT HAS THAT ENGINE THAT SHUTS ITSELF DOWN TO 3 CYLINDARS WHEN YOU ARE CRUISING OR DECELERATING-- BASICALLY GETS ABOUT 23 CITY AND 28 TO 30 HIGHWAY. SO, NEEDLESS TO SAY I LOVED THAT CAR BUT IT WAS A MINIVAN. ANYWAY, THE NEW LEXUS SUV CAME OUT AND MY FRIENDS DECIDED TO GET ONE. THEY ARE IN HIGH DEMAND AND THEIRS FINALLY CAME IN THE OTHER DAY AND I JUST HAPPENED TO ASK HOW MUCH THEY WERE SELLING THEIR 2006 LOADED ODYSSEY WITH 20K MILES FOR. THEY SAID THEY ARE TRADING IT IN AND THE DEALER ONLY WILL GIVE THEM 18,500K FOR IT!!! LESS THAN 2 YEARS AGO THEY SPENT 35 THOUSAND ON IT AND LESS THAN 2 YEARS LATER THEY ONLY WILL GIVE 18K-- NO WAY!!! SO I KELLY BLUE BOOKED IT AND IT SHOULD SELL FOR 26 TO 28K. SO, WHAT DO YOU THINK I DID? YES, I DID IT. I BOUGHT THEIR MINIVAN-- JUST ON TUESDAY-- FOR 18,500K. IT WAS JUST WAY TOO NICE A CAR AND WAY TOO CHEAP A PRICE TO PASS IT UP. OUR PAYMENTS ARE LIKE $320 A MONTH AND I WILL TELL YOU THE ACURA WAS A LOT MORE THAN THAT!!! SO, AFTER I WARDED OFF THE THOUGHTS OF EVER HAVING A MINIVAN AGAIN, I AM NOW THE DRIVER OF A MINIWAN-- BUT A REALLY NICE ONE!! STRANGLY, I REALLY LOVE IT. I FEEL LIKE IT WAS A STEP DOWN BUT FOR THE MONEY I WILL SAVE IN PAYMENTS AS WELL AS IN GAS MONEY, IT IS WAY WORTH THE STEP DOWN-- YOU KNOW I DID IT FOR THE KIDS-- IM A GIVER YOU KNOW--HAHA!!

ANYWAY, THE ACURA IS GONE AND HERE I SIT A MINIVAN DRIVER :)

CHRISTY :)Christyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03077047658906478290noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24690505.post-75843111472859915492008-05-01T20:16:00.000-05:002008-05-01T20:16:00.000-05:00The president noted that the rise in food prices h...The president noted that the rise in food prices has also affected consumers in the United States, where demand for food stamps has reached record levels. It sucks. We aren't rich. Never have been. We can't afford for me to go back on my meds (5 different kinds for PCOS). We don't even know if my husband will have a job next month.
